TSYS team members are passionate about the United Way. TSYS has been the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley’s only million-dollar donor for the past five years. During the 2013 TSYS United Way campaign, team members at TSYS corporate headquarters in Columbus, GA, pledged to donate $1,213,598 in 2014. More than $1.55 million was pledged for 2014 across TSYS locations throughout the U.S.

Team members don’t just show their support with their wallets. They volunteer their time. In 2014, a dedicated group of runners at TSYS organized the annual city-wide United Way Run for the Valley 5K. “This race is picking up great momentum and in turn helping TSYS provide United Way with funds to help our community,” said Tiffany Szabo, a senior business analyst at TSYS.

To help non-runners at TSYS prepare for their first 5K, a Couch to 5K program was started. Two TSYS group executives championed the six-week program which included lunch-hour walk-run intervals twice a week. The race, sponsored by TSYS and Columbus Water Works, raised $5,647 for the United Way, double what was raised the previous year.

“TSYS has had a strong partnership with United Way throughout its 30-year history,” said Jennifer St. John, vice president, Community Initiatives with United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley. “Company leaders have served on the United Way board and committees. Team members have been active volunteers and the campaign is an annual event bringing together all elements of this partnership.”

Congratulations TSYS!
