On April 23, 2015, The PrivateBank and The Chicago Urban League (“CUL”) presented “An Evening for Financial Empowerment” at the offices of “CUL. Participants attended a credit seminar followed by their choice of a homebuyer’s seminar or one-on-one mortgage counseling. The sessions covered various key topics including implications of good and bad credit, improving your credit score, steps to homeownership and more.
Attendees were also encouraged to participate in a Resource Fair where they were able to talk to experts about various topics including:
- Homebuyer counseling programs
- The PrivateBank mortgage programs including the bank’s closing cost assistance programs and available sources of down payment assistance
- Insurance and real estate agent information
- Affordable, unsecured personal and home improvement loans
- Flexible checking accounts
- College savings
