Assurant Employees Live United, Give United During 2014 FUNdraising Campaign

Whether showcasing their vocal talent or getting soaked, Assurant employees show they care while having fun. Assurant recently wrapped up its annual enterprise-wide United Way campaign, raising funds and awareness for the charitable organization. The campaign theme—Live United, Give United—set the tone for employee FUNdraising and reinforced community spirit. “Assurant employees’ generosity and creativity shined during our United Way campaign,” said Robert Pollock, CEO, of Assurant. “It’s important to be able to give back and Assurant is proud to support our employees’ commitment.”

Employees in New York went “batty” for Halloween themed activities, including scarecrow stuffing and a costume contest. They also assembled nine boxes of hygiene kits for New York Common Pantry and 29 boxes of healthy snacks for children at Mott Haven Community Center. In Assurant’s Miami office, Bingo, Karaoke, and dunk tanks raised funds and made a splash. The Atlanta office showed their spirit of giving back with Penny Wars, field day event filled with games and a silent auction. Employees assembled snack packs for kids in need as well.

The Kansas City office’s fun-filled campaign included jeans day sales, jewelry fair and raffles. Penny Wars also were popular in Assurant’s Milwaukee office, where employees supported 50/50 raffles and silent auctions. To reinforce employees’ enthusiastic support of United Way, the Assurant Foundation will again match dollar-for-dollar donations from fundraising events. While final contributions from the recent campaign are being tallied, employees and the Assurant Foundation donated more than $1.6 million to local United Way chapters last year.
