This spring Bank of the West opened Colorado’s first HOPE Inside Center in collaboration with nonprofit Operation HOPE to support the economic well-being of the greater Denver community. The Center houses a certified financial counselor who provides financial education training in the areas of first-time homeownership, small business development and personal money management. All services are free of charge and available to the general public.
“HOPE Inside Centers are a fantastic way to reach individuals and business owners who are looking for financial education to achieve their dreams. Bank of the West was the first bank to establish a HOPE Inside Center in a branch more than a decade ago, so we have seen how the training and resources improve peoples’ lives and make our communities stronger,” said Nandita Bakhshi, President and CEO of Bank of the West and a member of the Operation HOPE board. “We were very happy to partner once again with Operation HOPE to open Colorado’s first HOPE Inside Center.”
The HOPE Inside Center in Aurora is the bank’s third HOPE location, joining a Bank of the West HOPE Inside Center in Pico Rivera, California that opened in 2014 and the nation’s first HOPE Inside Center that opened in Oakland, California in 2003. Thousands of participants have benefitted from this innovative model of housing a financial education nonprofit within the bank’s branches including, 20,000 individuals reached with financial education classes and 10,000 individuals and entrepreneurs who have received coaching on credit, homeownership, and small business planning.
Congratulations Bank of the West!
