Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia recently broke ground on a new home ownership project in North Philadelphia. Throughout the months of September and October, colleagues from Santander Bank participated in team builds at the new Turner Street site where they assisted with painting, framing, putting up drywall and cleaning up the grounds. Five families will be able to call this project home when it is completed in 2016. These new homes are on formerly vacant lots and provide much-needed affordable housing to hard working families.
Jim Wujcik, Business Banking Executive at Santander stated, “We all have a responsibility to give back to the communities where we live and ’pay it forward.’ While this was a great team building experience, at the end of the day we were able to look back and realize our efforts provided a little bit of hope for a family in need.”
The Habitat for Humanity team build is one of the many ways Santander colleagues volunteer in their communities. By partnering with Habitat for Humanity, we can help the organization in its efforts to provide families with the opportunity to own an affordable home.
Congratulations Santander Bank, N.A.!
