A crowd of 18,000 youth, educators and guests, including 100 Allstate agency owners and employees, filled Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul to celebrate at “We Day Minnesota” sponsored by The Allstate Foundation. We Day is a special event that recognizes students’ participation in the year-long program We Act, which offers young people free educational resources to become active local and global citizens.

We Day Minnesota became one of the largest classrooms in the world complete with teachers, classes, and recess. During the social empowerment class, Tom Wilson, Allstate President, Chairman & CEO, inspired everyone with a story about believing in oneself and finding inspiration to take action.

“You can achieve anything you set your mind to!” were the words of a Minneapolis student who had everyone standing and cheering in agreement.

In addition to the inspiring speakers, there were amazing performances by Colbie Caillat, Kardinal Offishall, and The Band Perry to name a few.

Educators respond enthusiastically to We Day and We Act too. Jennifer Carter-Berg, Assistant Principal at Wayzata Center Middle School in Wayzata, Minnesota, said, “We’ve had Allstate Insurance for over 10 years. As a policyholder and educator, I was thrilled to receive a box of We Day t-shirts sponsored by The Allstate Foundation for my students to wear when we attend We Day Minnesota. We appreciate your support of We Day and the work of the youth of Minnesota. Thank you!”

As the co-title sponsor, Allstate is bringing 12 We Days to the United States through 2016 and ensuring We Act is available throughout the nation.

Congratulations Allstate!
