Raymond James and The Glazer Family Foundation/Tampa Bay Buccaneers – along with other supporting partners – donated more than 18,000 pounds of canned goods to needy families through the annual “Sack Hunger” campaign, an effort that stocks local food banks around the holidays. The donations are equivalent to 15,263 meals for needy families in the Tampa Bay community and benefited food banks Feeding America Tampa Bay and Metropolitan Ministries. This year, Raymond James partnered with the Glazer Family Foundation/Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Campbell’s Chunky Soup, United Healthcare and PODS.
In addition to collection drives at the Raymond James headquarters and at the November 17 Bucs game, Raymond James volunteers and Bucs players rolled up their sleeves to stock shelves at Metropolitan Ministries to see the program at work in November. “We’re thrilled that the Bucs are here providing leadership today, and it’s a real special treat for these families that are struggling and that need help,” Metropolitan Ministries President and COO Tim Marks said. “The Sack Hunger drive with Raymond James is so critical to the ongoing engagement of the community and education of the community.”
Since the Sack Hunger program’s inception, more than 114 tons of non-perishable and canned food items have been collected.
Congratulations Raymond James!
