Fifth Third Bank is taking its innovative reemployment initiative on the road via its 40-foot eBuses, also known as Financial Empowerment Mobiles. For the past 10 years, the nationally-recognized Mobiles have traveled into low and moderate income communities throughout the bank’s footprint, bringing quality banking services like credit counseling to the underserved. More than 244,000 people have boarded the buses since 2004.
This year, the eBus now provide job search help. An extension of Fifth Third’s industry-leading reemployment program that helps unemployed customers land jobs, the bank makes online job search and training software available to the public via the buses’ computer workstations.
The online training, called the Job Seeker’s Toolkit, helps participants turn their resumes into marketing tools, discover the hidden job market, harness the power of social media, and develop their 30-second commercial, a brief statement of their qualifications and personal brand. The Job Seeker’s Toolkit includes nine training modules. Once an individual gains access via a unique code on the eBus, that code becomes theirs to use and access for 39 weeks.
The Job Seeker’s Toolkit, and the entire homeowner reemployment program, are fully paid for by Fifth Third Bank.
