A parade of smiles marched into the Boys & Girls Club of Great Brook Valley to see that their home-away-from-home had received an “extreme makeover,” thanks to an army of volunteers and donations from The Hanover Insurance Company. The 4,450 square foot Kids Club was transformed into a welcoming oasis with brightly colored paint and rugs, new computers, a mirrored dance studio, landscaping and fully stocked sports and art supply closets. The renovation was valued at more than $100,000.

Located in the largest public housing development in New England, The Great Brook Valley Boys & Girls Club has been a trusted presence in Worcester, Massachusetts, for over 20 years. With nearly 69 percent of Great Brook Valley’s children living in single parent homes and 54 percent of the households with an annual income of less than $15,000, the Club provides critical support services ranging from homework help and tutoring to recreation and dinner.

In addition to providing volunteers for the club renovation project, The Hanover Insurance Group Foundation also committed to a $150,000 multi-year grant to expand education programming at the club.

Congratulations The Hanover Insurance Group!
