As part of LPL Financial’s ongoing initiative to prepare underserved youth for college and a future of economic empowerment, LPL welcomed high school juniors and seniors to Explore Your Future, an interactive career exploration event organized by LPL’s Employee Volunteer Corps. More than 70 enthusiastic students gathered at LPL’s Boston, Charlotte, and San Diego office locations to participate in a variety of activities that offered them the chance to network and receive career guidance from the company’s leaders.
“It was great for our students to see career opportunities beyond the financial aspect,” said Stephanie Venti, director of development for The Preuss School in San Diego. “[We] heard our students say that they want to work at LPL someday. Looks like [LPL] may have some future employees!”
With the help of more than 100 employee volunteers, some of the day’s activities included:
- An executive panel on LPL’s line of business, mission, and core values
- A networking luncheon where employee volunteers were paired with students to share guidance to help navigate their future
- Mock interviews and resume writing guidance
“The students were very impressive,” said Trap Kloman, senior vice president of Investor Relations at LPL. “Explore Your Future provided them a real-world setting in which to challenge themselves, and based on their performance I believe it instilled greater confidence in them that they are on the right path for success.”
Through the Foundation, LPL partners with a number of organizations to provide the support needed to help underserved students achieve academic success, meaningful careers, and responsible citizenship.
Congratulations LPL Financial!
