Programming is a solid base that opens doors to a world of possibilities. In keeping with their tradition of innovation and building communities, Popular, Inc.’s Digital Strategy and Innovation Division offers the D-Coding Programming Workshops.
Since the workshop launch in 2015, more than 600 students, between the ages of 13-18, from public and private schools and homeschoolers participated in seminars where they have had the opportunity to learn what programming is, its design, idea development and coding. They also fix the code of a video game and design apps. The general public, schools and individuals around the world can also watch the seminars through a live stream.
The process of programming facilitates the designing, debugging and ongoing developing and underwriting of a code in order to ease the way we use technology devices such as phones, watches, tablets and smart cars, among many others. Each program has a sequence of instructions that are done in code and used to communicate with the different devices.
Members of Popular’s Digital Strategy and Innovation team, as well as external experts, serve as facilitators during the workshops. Besides discussing computing and technology subjects, students receive teamwork and leadership orientations.
“Technology has impacted and shifted all industries throughout the years. We are very proud to be part of this important change. Eventually, all companies end up becoming technology companies…it has become an adaptation process, we know we need to grow with it and we are committed to staying at the forefront of this evolution,” said Camille Burckhart, Chief Information and Digital Officer for Popular, Inc.
Congratulations Popular, Inc.!
