The Hartford’s character is shining brightly this holiday season as employees across the country teamed up to support those in need through our annual Put The Hart in the Holidays program. Employees created lasting memories by volunteering time to make a difference in our communities, sending cards of thanks to our troops, and providing gifts to families who wouldn’t otherwise receive them.
Here are some of the great ways employees are making the holidays brighter for our neighbors in need.
- New York, N.Y. – Teammates collected toys for children impacted by Superstorm Sandy.
- Overland Park, Kan. – More than 100 coats, hats and mittens and grocery store gift-cards were collected to make extreme weather months more bearable for neighbors in support of Project Warmth.
- Santee, Calif. – After some festive caroling on Dec. 17, employees delivered more than 190 gifts to patients in Edgemoor Hospital, a local 190-bed long-term care facility.
- Hartford, Conn. – The Village for Families and Children, Gifts of Love, YWCA, Connecticut’s Children’s Medical Center and My Sister’s Place – five long-standing community partners – were on hand on Dec. 5 to accept more than 1,700 gifts from employees.
“The generosity of The Hartford’s employees across the country has made wishes come true for families and children in our communities,” said Diane Cantello, vice president of corporate social responsibility at The Hartford. “They really have put the hart in the holidays.”
Congratulations The Hartford!
