To help spread holiday cheer this season, a group of colleagues from Santander Bank recently volunteered at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Thirteen Bank employees who work in branches throughout Staten Island spent the day sorting and repacking food that will be distributed to more than 900,000 hungry individuals and families in New Jersey.
Michael Fuoco, Santander’s District Executive of Staten Island East stated, “It was incredibly rewarding for me and my team to volunteer at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. We did not realize how much work goes into sorting and repacking food and were truly humbled by this experience knowing that we were making a difference in the lives of those who need help putting food on their table. Many of my branch managers want to volunteer again with their children so they can show their kids how fortunate they are to have an abundance of food, while so many people struggle to make ends meet.”
Santander is proud to partner with the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Last year, the FoodBank distributed 45 million pounds of food, feeding more than one million people in New Jersey. Santander colleagues will continue to volunteer at the organization throughout the month of December.
