As part of its financial literacy efforts, State Farm worked with the Steve Harvey Morning Show to produce the State Farm Financial Education Minutes. This series of six segments aired on the radio show each week for 6 weeks beginning in April in honor of Financial Literacy Month.
Agent Lakitsia Gaines, Miami, Fla., represented State Farm in the series. Topics covered included budgeting, saving, buying a car or house, retirement planning and creating a financial plan.
Lakitsia is very active in her community with the State Farm Bank® Make it Possible (MIP) campaign. Make it Possible offers State Farm agents a series of financial education workshops to assist agents in educating the communities they serve on a variety of financial topics.
The coverage is already making a difference for the Make it Possible campaign. This year, nearly 100 workshops have been presented and more than 2,700 individuals have attended at least 1 Make it Possible workshop.
The Make It Possible campaign addresses the financial literacy needs of community members with education, resources, and products to ensure they have the necessary tools to realize their dreams and live confidently.
MIP positions State Farm agents as community leaders with the resources and products to help individuals become financially educated, build good credit, and make sound financial choices. Through events, meetings, and workshops hosted by State Farm Bank-certified agents, long-term relationships and financial literacy are being built throughout communities across the country.
