Team members at all 28 of Synovus’ locally-branded bank divisions and all corporate departments collected more than 204,000 bottles of water during the company’s Here Matters Bottled Water Drive June 6-10. More than 40 organizations throughout Synovus’ five-state footprint will receive bottled water shipments during the summer months.
In May, Synovus launched its Here Matters community outreach program to focus company and team member outreach efforts on three areas of local community service: education, needs-based opportunities, and health and wellness. The Here Matters name, areas of focus, and program details were determined by Synovus team members from across the company.
The bottled water collection and distribution initiative, along with the organizations receiving the water, were identified and delivered by Synovus banks and team members in local communities. Organizations receiving bottled water include Boys and Girls Clubs, United Way, Meals on Wheels, and American Red Cross organizations across the footprint; Children’s Hospital of Georgia/Camp Rainbow; Autism Pensacola; Big Bend Homeless Coalition (Tallahassee, Florida); Feeding the Valley Food Bank (Columbus, Georgia); and Carolina Youth Development Center (Charleston, South Carolina).
