TD Bank knows that teaching financial education to our children and local communities help consumers become better money managers and sets them up for future financial success. But what about supporting those who are doing the teaching?
TD Bank partnered with Ceridian LifeWorks and T. Rowe Price to launch a series of internal financial education webinars to support our own employees with their financial goals. Weekly webinars cover a range of topics such as creating a personal budget and getting out of debt to retirement saving tips and planning for your financial future.
“Giving our own employees more information about money management enables them to have better conversations with customers and feel more confident in their skills when teaching financial education classes in their community,” said Andrea Johnson, Head of U.S. Financial Education at TD Bank. “We’ve had many of our Financial Education Instructors attend and even found new Instructors from employees who enjoyed the program so much they wanted to bring it to their community.”
More than 1,600 employees have participated in the webinars since they launched in January. Many employees who participate are also Financial Education instructors who said the webinars support what they are teaching in the communities and give them new tools and tips to ensure students and adults understand the topic being taught. So far in 2015, TD Bank has taught financial education lessons to 1,600 classrooms and 30,000 students with plans to teach more through the end of the year.
Congratulations TD Bank!
