TD Bank believes financial education is important at any age and continuing education is the key to financial success. This belief is what drives TD Bank to continue to provide financial education lessons and resources year after year to customers, employees and the community.
TD Bank kicked off Financial Literacy Month with WOW! Zone classes and Junior Banker Store Tours across the footprint. Students learned the essentials of money management with topics that touch on the importance of saving money, ways to keep track of their spending and the basics of a checking account. The Junior Banker Store Tour also provided a behind-the-scenes look at how a bank operates each day.
“WOW! Zone lessons are a great learning experience for not only the students, but also the parents and teachers,” said Dora Ireta, a Teller in North Carolina. “After a class with a Girl Scout troop, one of the moms told me she wished they could have taught her about the importance of tracking your spending when she was younger. It’s never too late to learn the importance of managing your money.”
Financial education is important to the employees at TD Bank too! Last year, the bank launched a series of free financial education webinars just for TD Bank employees. Since the program’s launch, more than 2,200 employees have participated in 43 webinars. Webinar topics include saving for retirement, managing joint bank accounts and basic budgeting tips.
Congratulations TD Bank!
