The People’s United Community Foundation, the philanthropic arm of People’s United Bank, conducted a free nonprofit workshop for its grant recipients at People’s United Bank headquarters in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The People’s United Community Foundation Nonprofit Workshop – created for CEO’s, Executive Directors, Board Chairs and Development Officers – focused on building successful campaign committees and strategic planning. During the morning session, presented by Hartford Hospital, attendees learned best practices for managing successful capital campaigns, how to reach top prospects and close transformational gifts by maximizing the potential of a dynamic volunteer committee.
The afternoon session, presented by Jack Good, Vice President of Community Service at People’s United Bank, reviewed approaches to effective strategic planning. Good provided an inside look at the planning process at various starting points, discussed the benefits of using an outside consultant and examined best practices.
A total of 30 representatives from Connecticut and New York nonprofit organizations attended the event.
