At Toyota Financial Services (TFS), we know the importance of understanding credit and the economic opportunities that go hand-in-hand with financial capability. We believe that companies should be active in helping empower communities by providing access to financial tools and resources.
Each year, beginning in April, we employ the talents and knowledge of TFS team members to facilitate workshops through our “Driving My Financial Future” signature program that benefits students from traditionally underserved areas. These workshops center on various topics such as: wants versus needs, budgeting, good credit, learning to pay for college, financing, and building your own business.
This April, 115 TFS volunteers kicked off financial empowerment month by partnering with Girl Scouts, Boys & Girls Clubs, Junior Achievement, high schools and other organizations to engage more than 1,000 students across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. And that’s just the beginning as we prepare to host workshops nationwide throughout the entire year.
Workshop participants learned financial fundamentals that are needed to build successful money management skills. Some even learned how to create a business plan to start their own company. Girl Scouts participating in our first ever “Bring Your Girl Scout to Work” event were so thrilled with what they learned that they took the information home to share with their families.
TFS proudly supports the communities in which we live and work and is dedicated to creating upward mobility for all!
