Webster Bank recently partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven, Conn., to build a new home for a family. Fourteen members of Webster’s Human Resources Department, led by Chief Human Resources Officer Barnard Garrigues, spent June 11 working on this project, which began in April and is expected to be completed this fall.

Webster bankers worked along side the future homeowner and his wife, who will live there with their three children. Bankers mounted siding, installed cement boards in the kitchen in preparation for tiling, insulated the upstairs ceilings, removed old scaffolding, fences, and scrap metal from the work site, and helped keep the site clean and organized.

“This project was so fulfilling,” said Garrigues. “We strengthened our teamwork, but more importantly, helped this family.”
