Western & Southern Financial Group favors the long-term perspective in its business…and in its philanthropy. Over the past 22 years, the 126-year-old Cincinnati, Ohio-based company and its corporate foundation have contributed more than $1.2 million to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, which drives research and provides services to people affected by MS, an unpredictable, often disabling disease affecting approximately 400,000 Americans – 2.3 million worldwide.
Western & Southern’s commitment to the fight against MS goes deeper than sharing financial resources.
- The company has sponsored Cincinnati’s Walk MS fundraiser since 1993.
- Western & Southern associates support Walk MS with enthusiasm. The company team, Willie’s Walkers, named for former company chairman, the late William J. Williams, had 1,228 members in 2014 and is consistently the nation’s largest.
- A Western & Southern associate has served on the board of the local chapter for decades.
- The company provides free printing and other in-kind assistance to the MS Society.
For Western & Southern, a member of the National MS Society’s Circle of Distinction for top corporate supporters, the relationship is a cornerstone of an extensive corporate philanthropy program that distributed $8.5 million in donations and corporate sponsorships from the company, its corporate foundation, and associates in 2013. The majority of those dollars stay in Greater Cincinnati, where they strengthen the four pillars the company believes are crucial to healthy communities – quality of health care (the focus of the National MS Society donations), financial stability, educational achievement and community partnerships.
Congratulations Western & Southern Financial Group!
