Joey Smith is Vice President of Meetings and Events for the Financial Services Roundtable where he manages and directs the coordination of all FSR meetings and events.
Before joining the Financial Services Roundtable, Joey served over 9 years in public, private and political event planning and operations management. Most recently, Smith was the Director of Operations at the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States. During the 2012 race for the White House, Joey served on the Romney for President campaign, working directly for Congressman Paul Ryan as his Director of Vice Presidential Candidate Advance and Trip Director. Additionally, he served as the Deputy Director of Operations and Director of Advance for the Pawlenty for President campaign.
During the President George W. Bush administration, Joey served as a political appointee in the role of Personal Aide and Special Assistant to Secretary Dirk Kempthorne at the U.S. Department of the Interior. From 2005 – 2009, he also served as a representative of the Office of Presidential Advance at the White House, where he traveled domestically and internationally coordinating and managing presidential travel and events.
