Scott Stewart is the Senior Director of Membership & Operations at the Financial Services Roundtable. Previously he served as a political appointee in the Secretary’s office at the Department of the Interior in 2005 and 2006 and drove the administration’s energy message to external organizations and state governments. Stewart designed the plans for communicating both fossil and renewable Secretarial decisions on energy policy to energy and environmental groups, policy leaders and state governments. While at Shell, Stewart successfully guided several significant regulatory commenting campaigns; designed Shell’s proposed royalty structure for oil shale development to the BLM; and worked with environmental NGOs to successfully influence new Colorado hard rock mining regulations.
Stewart has both managed government and regulatory programs for a large energy company, and been involved on the financial side of the business for a small oil exploration and production company. Before joining the Roundtable, Stewart was assisting the family independent insurance brokerage in California. With extensive experience as an external, regulatory, government and communications professional, Scott is a clear leader in policy and issue management. Stewart received his Bachelor’s Degree from Yale University and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Denver.
