LOGAN — A Utah State University student snagged $10,000 Tuesday after winning a national video contest promoting saving for retirement.
Providence resident Paige Rood entered the Save 10 $tories Video Contest last fall while enrolled in an economics class.
The video amateurs who participated showed “who, when, why or how anyone can save 10 percent of their income toward retirement,” according to Financial Services Roundtable.
From hundreds of submissions, ten finalists were selected — including three others from Utah — and nine of the 10 received $1,000. Rood won the grand prize and accepted it Tuesday in Washington D.C.
